Pinealon is a synthetic tripeptide (Glu-Asp-Arg) developed by the St. Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology under the direction of Professor Vladimir Khavinson. It belongs to a class of short peptide bioregulators designed to target specific tissue types. Pinealon is the synthetic analog of Epithalamin and is designed to support central nervous system function and pineal gland activity.
Reported Mechanism (Preclinical)
Pinealon is proposed to penetrate cell membranes and interact directly with DNA, modulating gene expression in neural tissues. Research suggests it promotes melatonin synthesis in pinealocytes, enhances antioxidant enzyme expression in CNS tissues, and may regulate circadian rhythm-related gene networks. As a bioregulator, it is theorized to restore optimal peptide signaling that declines with aging in the central nervous system.
